2012 National Math Tests given to 30 Million Community College Students reveal: 

Only 53% of the college students could identity the largest and smallest of 2 whole numbers.

Only 21% of the college students could correctly place 2 numbers on a number line between -2 and 2.

77% of the college students believed that math was not something that could be figured out or made sense. It was a set of procedures to memorize.
